The History of Barangay Hanopol Norte

    Hanopol Norte is located at the northern part of Hanopol, hence its name. The barangay was once part of sitio Hagbuaya , one of the big sitios of the original big barangay of Hanopol.
 
    In 1930, when Hagbuaya was sub – divided the two barrios of Boyog Norte and Hagbuaya Proper were created. Hagbuaya Proper was renamed Hanopol Norte, the official name which the barangay uses to date. 

    Hanopol Norte connects Balilihan to the southern part of the Municipality of Catigbian and to Batuan to it’s North. The Provincial roads leading to Catigbian and Batuan both traverse this barangay. Making it an essay enter and exit points for all kinds of people who pass or visit the Barangay.


    The regular route of the Chatto trans from Batuan to Tagbilaran City and vise versa via Hanopol exits and enters thru Hanopol Norte has cut short travel time and distance to the interior Municipalities.
       
    In near future, the shortest route to the world famous Chocolate Hills in Carmen will pass by this barangay when the on-going Nationalization of the Balilihan-Hanopol-Batuan Provincial Road  will be realized, thanks to Edgar M. Chatto the proponent of the project. 
 
 
    In summary, Hanopol Norte is the last barangay in Municipality of Balilihan. Before it became a barangay, it was just a ordinary place sites in Hagbuaya. It took a lot of time to make it a full-fledged barangay and nationalization of the cities provincial road. Chairman Teodusio Ale Mancha who's peacefully serving the Barangay of Hanopol Norte right now.
